Argyle SoMo & SoEl

This year, for my favorite little 3-year-old's preschool auction, I donated 2 stuffed argyle sock animals that I made.

Here they are hanging out on an icy January morning.

Each animal has a belly full of dried lavender.

Happy sewing!

olive oyl and popeye

We had a great time at the Halloween party. I've decided not to make costumes on the day of the event! It worked out okay this time, but I probably gave myself a few more grey hairs.

Lavender Filled Sachet

Today I made a prototype for my organic lavender filled felt sachets. Currently, I'm rethinking shapes and sizes. This one is about 2.5"x4". Ideally, the edges will be pinked into a zig-zag... or if i leave the edges straight a border of bright ric-rac will be sewn around the pouch.

Progress with Suz

Susan had a couple days off of work and came to town Monday night so we could get started on the quilt.  We went out and chose some fabric for the border and the backing...

After doing some simple maths we drew up a plan and cut all of the fabric for the back and the patchwork borders.
I colored in the squares so we will know how to piece together the border... although the pattern is completely random, plotting it out in advance makes me feel a little better and gives the project a sense of order...

Next step: planning individual sections?  Stay tuned... Happy Quilting!

The First Step To Baby Lancaster's Quilt

This past weekend my gal pals Danielle, Chrissy, Susan, and I went on a fun road trip to Moscow, ID.  Our high school friend Nick and his lovely wife Paola are expecting a baby soon; so we brought a little baby shower to them and checked out a jazz festival too.

On our drive over to Moscow, Susan gave us the idea for a fun craft project: a quilt made by Baby Lancaster's aunties.

The four of us are each going to design a quarter of the quilt... so here is a basic sketch.  We will be choosing the fabric for the backing and the patchwork border next week, so stay tuned!

Happy Quilting. xoxo
