Sand Septopus

A dear friend of mine is getting married this November. She had always been a supporter of my artwork, especially anything septopus related, and I'll be getting the chance to see her in the next week while I'm in Japan. I'm excited to bring my friend a Char Char Original that she and her soon to be hubby inspired.

Happy Love.

Glass Art

On my last visit to The Question Mark Lounge, my friends Susan and Mellow surprised me with some handmade artwork for my birthday!

This is a close-up shot of the glass and string sandwich that Susan made.  It commemorates all of the string she wasted at my house during our quilt project!
::wink wink::
Mellow made this groovy metallic piece.  I think it is a landscape from a planet in a far off galaxy. The second surprise of the visit was that I got to make a piece of glass art too!
I decided to make an underwater scene of some dancing Septopi.
So first, I created a background.

Then I painted on the front and back of the top piece...

Then, Wham!  After some collaboration with Susan, Amber, and Jeff we had a Glass Septopi sandwich.

Sea Life Themes.

I don't really feel bad about my "endy doodle" from earlier today because one, it was a matter of the heart, and two, i had a productive day of artwork making

Here we have the beginnings of three different pieces: a monoprint with a septopus made of vellum, an airplane collage with some fish, and a seahorse collage.

It was really fun working with colorful paper today.  I have some great colorful ideas of how these 3 pieces will be finished.

Stay tuned for the final products!  xoxo
